Recreational Landscape, Oporto
A recreational landscape sweeps down one side of the river Douro in Oporto. Shaped to fit the movement of the landscape and an existing concrete reinforcement, this structure augments the landscape.
The structure provides a path down the steep side of the river, forming a path in a continuous movement.
The emphasis is on the quality of slowness, emphasising this local quality. Furthermore the structure aims to be vast enough to reference the scale of the landscape.
As you move through this new landscape you are subjected to various plateaus and places to rest and recreate.
