New Natural History Museum, Copenhagen
Our proposal for the ideas competition for a New Natural History Museum situated in the historic botanical garden in Copenhagen emerges from an idea of creating a spectacular and different museum underground.
The generous exhibition spaces appear as soft hills in the garden only hinting that something extraordinary is buried underneath.
The museum itself is inspired by the classic diorama, but interpreted in contemporary context.
The result is a 360 degree experience of astonishing total-scapes for each exhibit.
By utilizing e.g. 3d visualizations and projections to show holistic environments the spectator is put in the middle of a dynamic showcase of historic collections and cutting-edge interactive exhibitions.
The project was executed in collaboration with JA-JA Architects
