Auction House & Centre for Analogue
- Awarded 3rd prize in the Icopal competition 2007Based in the Brick Lane area of London, this project responds to an existing market and trading culture that exists around vinyl records.
Acknowledging the uniqueness of Vinyl records as a medium, this Auction house and centre for analogue sound, provides a cultural centre in which not only rare records are traded, but where records can be listened to in unique and configurational environments.
There are nostalgia rooms allowing for playback of a record in the interior architectural environment, thus simulating the sounds of architecture through history.
The centre also has a large listening space where the acoustics can be modified to various degrees of hard and soft acoustics.
