Copenhagen Bike
- Winner of 2nd prize in international competition.COBI (Copenhagen Bike) is a conceptually new system for a public city bike. The bike features a low unisex and unisize aluminum frame stripped down to it's essential components to provide a robust, low maintenance and contemporary biking experience.
The parking stands are retrofitted existing stands to save on resources and all bike components are made from recycled materials.?The bike features a unique integrated lock system operated by a touch lcd-display which allows for locking outside of the stands. The bike also features a GPS unit and RFID reader which allows for integration with social networks and provides riding statistics to users and the municipality. ?The bikes are operated by a central system which can be accessed via the parking stands, the web, by sms or via Iphone for maximum convenience.
The system itself encourages user participation by offering 'karma points' equaling to free usage to users who help maintain the system by e.g. delivering bikes back to stands, that need replenishing. This ecosystem approach helps maintain and create respect around the bikes.
